Sweet & Smoky Guacamole

My mom says- and I quote- “this is the best guacamole I’ve ever had.” Now I know some of you are diehard traditional guac fans, and I completely respect that- why fix what isn’t broken, right? But if you’re feeling a little crazy, these few little tweaks just set it over the top. It’s such a fun addition to your regular party spread, and will be something your guests will definitely remember.

Sweet & Smoky Guacamole

Ingredients:
  • 2 avocados, mashed
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 jalapeño, chopped finely
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped finely
  • 1/2 Granny Smith apple, chopped finely
  • 1 T chopped fresh cilantro
  • 3 pieces sugar free, nitrate free bacon, chopped finely
  • 1 T roasted salted Pepitas
  • 1/2 t garlic powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1/4 t onion powder
To Prepare:
Mash avocados to your desired consistency along with the lime juice to keep them from browning. Add in all the goods and seasonings, and stir to combine. Serve with tortilla chips (I love Siete Grain-Free Chips), crudités (just a fancy word for raw veggies), or on my taco sliders.
