Sweet & Spicy Roasted Brussels

Promise me if you don’t think you like Brussels sprouts that you’ll try these before banishing them forever. This makes an impressive side for any gathering, or add a protein and you’ve got a filling meal for a weeknight.

Sweet & Spicy Roasted Brussels

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Servings: 4


  • 1 lbs. Brussels sprouts
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 red apple such as Honeycrisp
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 oz. fresh parmesan shaved
  • Sea salt + freshly ground black pepper
  • Avocado oil
  • 1 tbsp honey mixed with 1/4 tsp cayenne or hot honey
  • Directions:


  • Chop Brussels, bacon, apple and onion to an equal size, about 1 inch
  • Drizzle with avocado oil, salt, and generous pepper
  • Roast at 400 for 20 minutes, take out and toss, and roast another 10-15 minutes until deeply browned and caramelized
  • Top with shaved parmesan, hot honey, and additional salt + pepper if needed
